Science Branching[]

Brave team of scientists-demomen is divided into three branches. First and the most simple is Researcher. Second, and loved by everyone, is Plasma Researcher, also known as Bomberman. And the last, and most dangerous one, "RESEARCH DIRECTOR WHY DID YOU OPEN THIS CLOSET?!", - Xenobiologist. Science team has a lot of knowledge in different fields, such as creation and control of most dangerous things on station, so if half of station gets blown up or army of Metroids attacks Medbay, it's obvious that each branch of scientists has its own tasks.

  • Researcher - research of new devices, such as Mass Spectrometer or different circuit boards.
  • Plasma researcher - creation of bombs, and also testing on polygon (NOT ON STATION).
  • Xenobiologist - feeding and breeding (Farming Simulator 2512) of Metroids for their juicy cores.

You should know that all your co-workers are mentally unstable, and you'll be fine. Just don't let these idiots be nearby when you're experimenting. Seriously.

Researcher[]

Research machine

Machinery used for Research and Development.

Your laboratory is home for all advanced devices, including weaponry, batteries, drills, circuit boards and so on. Items on station such as Hand Teleporter, Stun Batons and Analyzers can be used to raise research levels. Sometimes research will be frozen because of lack of minerals such as Gold, Silver, Iron and so on. You'll have to become best friend with Quartermaster and Shaft Miners.

Plasma Researcher[]

Toxin storage

Toxin Storage. Plasma is stored here.

As Plasma Researcher, your task is to research ways of generating power using plasma, but your job is about making bombs. You'll be working with very explosive materials, and half of station exploding and you not working for Syndicate at best will get you banned.

However, it doesn't mean that you shouldn't make bombs. They are very useful. A bomb exploded in time can stop the Singularity which wasn't contained by these dumb engineers or can help with calming down the AI. It's not bad to have a bomb in your pocket (not literally), and don't be afraid to test your creation on the polygon.

Xenobiologist[]

Metroid cage

A metroid cage. One of metroids is being fed.

These scientists research alien lifeforms known as Metroids and sometimes Xenomorphs. Care and safety is the way to win. Laboratory wasn't designed for uncareful and incompetent personnel, who can't wait to release green friends. Remember, field generators should always be on, and a Fire Extigusher should be nearby, in case of hungry metroid attack. Usage of monkeys in nearby pen will allow you to safely extract and kill the jellyfish.
